| How would rate your success as a Christian wife or
husband? If a final evaluation was given and your experience
was analyzed how would you fare? There are many who begin the journey of
matrimony and live long, and productive lives filled with happiness and
joy. There are others, however who somehow miss the mark and fall along
the wayside as their marriages crumble into streaked water colored images
of what could have been. What can we learn from the careful observation
of the lives of those who successfully weathered the course marriage? What
is the common characteristic of the successful Christian marriage that
is responsible for its quality and longevity? Scholars respond that they
had communication, respect, passion, understanding, comfortable spirits,
and compatibility. Yet, even with all these, there is something missing.
Consider the daughter who wanted to know how to be a good wife to her husband. The young lady was just a few days before her wedding day and she came in for a mother-daughter talk.
