| Is there anything that you would trade for the life you now live as a Christian? Is there anything that could prompt you to change your life journey and turn in another direction? The Christian life is one that is challenging and rewarding. Those who live for Christ have reached the conclusion that there is nothing they would trade for the Christian life experience. That is a bold statement because it means believers would reject everything the world offers if it means giving up their lives in Christ. Anniversaries are milestones. They are points along the way where we pause to evaluate the journey. Anniversaries tell us how far we have come and they help us measure how far we have to go. Congregations of believers celebrate anniversaries because they help us appreciate the unique nature of one church’s journey. As individuals, anniversaries help us to focus on our personal journey to the promised land. Church congregations that have existed many years have long rich histories that speak of dedicated men and women who believed and trusted in God and worked to make the kingdom of God a reality on earth. Church histories are filled with references to the faith of the founders and the strength of their commitment to the church and the kingdom of God. Church anniversaries give individual members a chance to reflect upon their personal journeys toward perfection. Every church anniversary is an individual anniversary as well. It marks our personal milestones in spiritual development.
